We're going to be updating the Rich Text Editor on our setup pages with a more flexible version. At the same time, we will be introducing the Editor inside the comments in a Discussion (that is, in an newly created discussions, since we would mess up the formatting in old ones.)

This editor will allow easy creation of Links to other pages, or to other websites.
It will eventually allow easy linking to Images as well (this should be ready mid February.)

One issue that is a problem in most of these online editors is the carriage return function. In IE, clicking the Enter key jumps down a double space, like these paragraph separations in this article. To move down just one line, one has to Shift Enter, rather than just hit the Enter key.

I read that the people who built this editor will be attempting to address this issue, but there is not yet a time frame for a solution to this.

I am also pushing to have us set up a prediction market, and use this as a beta test to gather input from exisiting editors and site owners on which features amd capabilities are most useful to our community.
